Cycle Sorcery & What it looks like

Have you noticed that the moon rises approximately an hour later each day? Have you noticed how the moonrise position on the horizon varies across the seasons too?

No? It’s amazing how we can go about our lives and not notice something that’s right there in plain sight, consistently changing day-to-day, isn’t it!

If you live in the city where there are high-rises you might not actually have a view of the sky, or, the light pollution might prevent you from really feeling the plunge into total darkness in a new moon - and the huge illumination the full moon brings, that feels like there’s a UFO hovering over my house.

The man-made modern world and all its conveniences and technology mean we are out of touch with the natural rhythms in the sky right overhead.

In the same way, we’ve lost touch with the inherent, ever-changing cyclic nature of the female body too.

We aren’t encouraged to admire the peaks and troughs of feminine energy, emotion and strength that comes with a female hormone cycle.

Instead, most often we are encouraged to suppress it. To override it, to live like the ever-present sun, and harness our inner masculine energy (striving, achieving, doing, taking action, pushing) because that’s what being successful in this world looks like.

Living solely in this masculine is the equivalent of using electric lighting to extend our up-time, and to override the innate pull back to the feminine and the slow, to dark, to flow.

Have you been noticing your own peaks and troughs? Your inherent energetic and emotional changes? Do you find it more comfortable to stay in your inner masculine energy, rather than to invite inflow, change, and possible chaos?

The wild feminine embraces her cycles. Rebels by fiercely protecting her body’s needs. Knows the tools and rituals she loves; that help her flow with the changes (both easy and challenging) rather than fighting against it. Because this is what makes her whole. Feeling, loving, and utilising all of her emotional depth and expression.
