Menstrual shame can be unwillingly perpetuated by those around us, which for children, includes friends, family, school peers and teachers, and our cultural programming. When its difficult for children to have open conversations, ask questions and seek support from their girlfriends and the adults who are tasked with teaching them about periods and puberty, its no surprise that children quiet, internalise the shame, and don't ask for help or share their experience. They can learn that periods are secret business, its nothing special, or worse, a curse that they must suffer in silence with. And certainly something not to bring up in the classroom.

Today's guest is on a mission to change all that herself, through her beautiful Sisterhood Circles for girls and women, and her First Moon Circle work.
